We are coming together with community, patient education, and resources, and it's a great time to check in, listen in, or share as you feel comfortable. Each Lupus experience is unique, and the effects are real and exacerbating for each patient, family, and caregiver. Lupus Foundation of America is hosting a National Hispanic Support Group in English and Spanish for a supportive bilingual open space, which can make all the difference during life's ups and downs. My name is Yvette Salinas, a third-generation lupus warrior who understands the importance of bringing lupus awareness to the Hispanic community. For over 30 years, I’ve had many severe health complications because of lupus SLE. Being a part of a Lupus Foundation of America support group has been an incredible experience, and it's an honor to serve as your National Hispanic Lupus Support Group facilitator. My heart is driven to encourage, empower, and educate individuals and families by sharing my experiences with lupus. I’m motivated by seeing how lupus has impacted my own Latino family, leading to the loss of two precious family members before the age of 30. I look forward to meeting you at our next National Hispanic support group meeting.
