The National Hispanic Lupus Community
We are coming together with community, patient education, and resources. Each of our Lupus experiences is unique, and the effects are real and exacerbating for each patient, family, and caregiver. Together, we can make a considerable impact by talking with fellow lupus warriors who genuinely understand and want to give validation, compassion, and acceptance—check in with your cameras on or off as we discuss relatable topics. It will be a significant time to share employment changes and challenges we have all faced. We welcome family members, friends, and caregivers to join us. As a third-generation lupus warrior who understands the importance of bringing lupus awareness to the Hispanic community, for over 30 years, I've had many severe health complications because of lupus SLE. Being a part of the Lupus Foundation of America support group has been an incredible experience, and it's an honor to serve as one of your National Hispanic facilitators. My heart is driven to encourage, empower, and educate individuals and families by sharing my experiences with lupus. I'm motivated by seeing how lupus has impacted my own Latino family, leading to the loss of two precious family members before the age of 30.
